Skeleton Root
Over-The-Rhine - Cincinnati, Ohio

Description

Skeleton Root is a winery located in downtown Cincinnati with a deep respect for Cincinnati's winemaking traditions. During the 1800s, right before the urban core took over Cincinnati industry, lush vineyards lined the Cincinnati hilltops. In fact, during the 1850s, the area became the most extensive wine growing region in the country. At that time, Nicholas Longworth was one of the area's most renowned winemakers. With his Mount Adams vineyards and Catawba grapes, he put Cincinnati wine on the map. By respecting the city's tradition of urban industry, the grapes, and the Over-the-Rhine neighborhood they call home, Skeleton Root plans on continuing Longworth's success.

Located in a historic Over-the-Rhine warehouse, Skeleton Root cultivates a style that is moody (in the best way possible) with an unmistakable industrial elegance. When you rent the venue, you have access to all public areas within the working winery. The Winehouse features rustic finishing and unique pieces that make nods to the region's winemaking history. Large windows allow natural light to wash over the room's bar and seating area while guests enjoy the winery’s excellent range of wines.

The private room can hold 100 guests. The Nook is around the corner and has exposed brick and original factory windows. The unique seating area has room for 50 guests. You also have the choice of having dinner in The Barn. Secluded behind two farm doors, the room has aging wine barrels that line the walls. Lower lighting and a smaller floor plan make the space perfect for more intimate groups of 60. Finally, all of the spaces are an excellent choice for stations events.
