West Chester, Ohio
The Muhlhauser Barn is a picturesque building that has deep roots in Cincinnati History. The original builder, Gottlieb Mulhauser, was a Cincinnati beer baron. Many of their beer ingredients were farmed for years in what is now known as West Chester Township. In 1881, the family built Muhlhauser Barn on the edge of their property, and in 2004, the barn was dismantled and moved to its current location on Beckett Road.
With the help of the Muhlhauser family and renowned barn restorer David Gaker, the barn opened as a community rental facility in 2008. The reconstructed barn features most of the original beams and roof tiles and is a sight to behold alongside the pond and rolling hills. With sweeping ceiling heights and a large stone fireplace, the barn's interior is both dramatic and stunning. The barn is also accompanied by a copper-roofed gazebo. The charming gazebo, which the Moerlein family donated, is now a favored ceremony spot.
Staying true to the original integrity of the barn, the facility does not have heating or air conditioning. Because of this, the barn and gazebo are only available for rent April through November. However, pricing is reasonable, leaving room in the budget for fans. With room for seating in the mezzanine, the barn can seat 220 guests. Rental of the barn includes tables and chairs for your guests.
