about our Gerber’s Farm Amish-raised chicken
“The feed and water program includes: no meat or bone meal; no fishmeal; no bakery by-products; no medicinal growth stimulants; no antibiotics; no hormones and no additives containing arsenic or arsenic compounds. The feed formula is composed of a cereal grain and vegetable oil base with additional vitamins, minerals and amino acids added to aid in digestion and to provide proper balance for the chicken’s dietary needs. The chickens are raised on family farms in Ohio’s largest Amish community. These Amish farmers tend to the chickens and provide excellent care. The buildings are large spacious barns providing plenty of room to roam. Fresh air, feed and water are always readily available”.
about our produce
eat well is committed to using seasonal fresh produce, as opposed to frozen or canned produce. Should we find that high quality fresh produce is not available, we will make a best case substitution for your menu.
about our sauces, marinades and dressings
Nearly everything we serve is made from scratch from the highest quality ingredients we can find. We purchase our spices from local vendors in small quantities. We also begin with only fresh garlic and onions or shallots, not pre-processed, and use fresh herbs. We do take advantage of a few judiciously-purchased, pre-prepared products when we find we cannot duplicate better. If you have questions on this matter, we are happy to discuss.
about our seafood
To the best of our ability, eat well follows the Monterey Bay Aquarium Seafood Watch as a guideline for seafood purchase. We use only organically produced fresh salmon and purchase domestically farmed or caught seafood whenever possible.
about our desserts
eat well is committed to fresh hand made desserts, featuring only the best quality Callebaut chocolate, real butter, high quality vanilla and other extracts, and real eggs.
